Professor Rudolf Filipovic
It is with regret that we learned recently of the passing of Professor Rudolf Filipovic, who was actively involved with the Federation in the 1970s.
We acknowledge and appreciate being able to
reproduce the attached obituary, which was prepared by Dr Damir Kslogjera, amended by Professor Alex Hoyt and recently updated by Dr Ana Petravic.

FIPLV Secretary General

Appreciation of Judith Hamilton
It is with sincere regret that FIPLV learned of the passing of Judith Hamilton. Judith was FIPLV Secretary General for the period of 1998-2000 and, despite her short period in office, contributed much to the work, role and image of the Federation. For example, it was she who initiated the documents which we now know as the FIPLV Mission Statement and the FIPLV Rationale.

We acknowledge the contribution and kindness of John Fergusson who, in the capacity of friend and former adviser in modern languages in Glasgow, prepared the following appreciation which appeared (with minor changes) in The Scotsman on 9 May 2008.
